Med Exam for CMV (Under FMCSA Standard)
The FMCSA DOT physical exam is for two classes of drivers who BOTH are required to submit a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Form MCSA-5875 Medical Examination Report Form (4 pages) and a Form MCSA-5876 Medical Examiner's Certificate (1 page). This is the correct exam for drivers who will carry a Class A or B commercial driver license, OR for drivers who require a California DMV endorsement to operate a commercial vehicle with a Class C license (e.g. ambulance drivers, first responders...).
Med Exam for Non-CMV (DMV Req'd Form DL-546A)
This is for state required certification of NON-COMMERCIAL drivers, including 1) driving instructors or 2) those driving a House Car 40 Feet+.
